# the real you

How easy is it to figure someone out? How hard is it? I think it's too much of both. When you first meet someone a whole image is created in your mind, in a second. How close is it to the truth? Usually way too far. It's true, the first thing we see gives us a strong impression. But only really little minds can allow themselves to stick to that. First impressions can be important in job interviews or once in a life time deal, but they are not true for life. Days pass by and in a second the whole image you had built of a person can break down. Then you can find a whole new one you never saw coming. The shy boy who's actually really lovely; the expontaneous crazy-party girl who's actually just scared of everything else; the secure loving dad, who's actually just taking a deep breath to show himself strong again the next day.
I never knew how long I took to figure someone out and I just realized it takes me quite a while. Maybe I'm just naive or maybe I don't really care to realize how real someone is willing to show themselves. But when you find it out it always comes to that "it's not just me who sometimes feel so out of place", eventually everyone leaves their confort zone, either because they choose to or because life makes them. That's the moment when you just give up and keep yourself on your "all the same" path or when you grow stronger.
